The ShearLab is a precision direct and residual shear testing machine designed to determine the shearing resistance of all types of soil specimens, including consolidated, drained, undisturbed, or remolded samples. It accommodates round specimens Ø 50, 60, 63.5, 100 mm and square specimens 60×60, 100×100 mm.
Equipped with a closed-loop motor with epicycloid reducers, ShearLab performs an automatic internal check at the start of each test, eliminating position errors and ensuring accuracy.
A microprocessor-controlled touchscreen provides an intuitive interface for inputting all test patterns efficiently. All settings can be configured while the machine is on standby, without affecting the specimen.
The machine allows:
- Automatic detection of shear box maximum extension to stop tests safely
- Independent residual shear return speed, saving time during tests
- Identification of primary consolidation effects directly from consolidation curves (data acquisition version)
- Automatic calculation of optimal shear velocity and consolidation parameters t50, t90, t100 (data acquisition version)
The ShearLab Digital Basic Version comprises:
- S276-10M Shear Frame, with digital Touch-Screen microprocessor, complete with beam loading device, shear box case with adaptors, and dial gauge supports.
- S370-03S Load Ring, 3000N capacity with electric safety stop device (load rings of different capacities up to 5000N available on request).
- S377 Dial indicator 25mm x 0.01mm for horizontal displacement.
- S376 Dial indicator 10mm x 0.01mm for vertical displacement.
- S273-KIT Set of 50 kg of slotted weights.
Note: Shear box, hollow punch, and tamper are not included and have to be ordered separately (see accessories).
